The number 60 is a common multiple of six. Several countries have their own naming conventions for it. For example, the Mali Empire used the Maasina Fulfulde counting system, and the Ekagi of Western New Guinea use the base 60. It also plays an important role in Chinese numerology and calendar. In the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it has its own name, sexagena, which refers to five dozen or a half gross.
